With a 0-2 win against Eintracht Frankfurt on Tuesday, Napoli have set themselves up well for the return leg of their Champions League last-16 tie. Azzurri midfielder Piotr Zielinski reflected on his side’s performance but warned that the tie wasn’t over yet. “It was a really big win but it was certainly not easy.
“We played in the way we had set out to. It was really tough at the start of the match because they were a tight unit and stopped us from finding ways through.
“However, we managed to get beyond them and open up space to go for goal.
“We could have scored a third goal and that would have given us more security going into the return leg. We’ll have to secure qualification at the Maradona and we’ll need to be really focused. We must capitalise on the advantage we’ve given ourselves.”
