A recent RAI report on the Campania TV news claims that Napoli has been sold to an investment group for €650 million. In normal circumstances, a fabricated story such as this would not even warrant denying, but since RAI (who quote a “leak” as their source) is a public service, we feel obliged to act. Aurelio De Laurentiis has no intention of selling Napoli and there are no talks in progress.
Besides anything else, the president has previously rejected offers of close to a billion dollars for the club.
In support of this “leaked” information, it is claimed that De Laurentiis wants to live in the United States. However, he has always divided his time between Los Angeles and Italy. He recently returned from a month-long stay at his residence in California. He doesn't need to sell Napoli to spend time in the States when his commitments require it.
