Matteo Politano struggled to fathom how Napoli came away with a single point from their Champions League encounter with Union Berlin after seeing his goal cancelled out by David Fofana's second-half leveller.
"It's hard to explain how we conceded that goal and how we ended up drawing – we were in control the whole game,” the Italian said in the wake of the Matchday 4 clash, which finished 1-1.
"We're gutted because it was a game we should have won. We obviously messed up in the lead-up to their equaliser but they only had that one shot on goal and we had loads of opportunities to score.
“In any case, the point keeps us up near the top of the group and we can be confident about going through.
“Now we need to knuckle down and immediately start preparing for Empoli on Sunday. Then we'll get going again in the Champions League with real belief we can reach the knockouts.”
